The world is full of fun problems to solve with friends. New Donkey Hodie bedtime stories can capture that playful, can-do spirit. They’re about figuring things out together. They’re about gentle humor and happy endings. Here are three new tales with that friendly feeling. Each story is a small adventure. Each one has a little funny surprise. And each one ends with everything calm, cozy, and ready for a good night’s sleep. Let’s get ready for some fun, and then some quiet.

Story One: The Really Tricky Treasure Map

Donkey Hodie found a piece of paper. It was under a bush. It had squiggly lines and a big red X. “Grampy!” she called. “I found a treasure map!” Grampy Hodie put on his glasses. “Well, I’ll be! A map! This is an adventure!”

The map showed the pond, the big rock, and a tree that looked like a broccoli. The red X was near the broccoli tree. Donkey was excited. “We have to find the treasure!” She called her friends. Duck Duck came. Panda came. Bob Dog was taking a nap, but he said he would guard the spot where they found the map.

They followed the map. First, they went to the pond. The map said, “Hop 3 times.” They all hopped three times. Boing, boing, boing! Nothing happened. “Maybe the treasure is invisible!” said Panda.

Next, they went to the big rock. The map said, “Sing a silly song.” So they sang a silly song about pickles wearing socks. They laughed, but no treasure appeared.

Finally, they reached the broccoli tree. The red X was right at its roots. “This is it!” said Donkey. “Start digging!” They used their hands and a stick. They dug and dug. Scoop, pat, scoop. They found a worm. They found a shiny rock. But no treasure box.

“Oh no,” said Duck Duck. “Is the map broken?” Grampy Hodie looked at the map again. He turned it upside down. He looked at the back. There, in tiny writing, it said: “The real treasure is the fun you had with your friends. PS: The shiny rock is pretty cool. Love, Uncle Hodie.”

Donkey looked at her friends. They were muddy. They were smiling. They had hopped and sung a silly song. Panda was wearing the worm on her head like a hat. Duck Duck was polishing the shiny rock. Donkey laughed. “Uncle Hodie is right! This was a treasure hunt!”

They walked back home, tired and happy. Bob Dog was still guarding the spot. “Any treasure?” he asked. “Tons of it!” said Donkey. She gave Bob Dog the shiny rock. He loved it. That night, Donkey put the map on her wall. The first of our Donkey Hodie bedtime stories was over. The adventure was done. The treasure was friendship and a funny day. Donkey fell asleep quickly, dreaming of broccoli trees and silly songs.

Story Two: The Great Blanket Fort That Wouldn’t Stay Up

Panda had a great idea. “Let’s build the biggest, coziest blanket fort ever!” Everyone agreed. Donkey brought blankets. Duck Duck brought pillows. Bob Dog offered to be a cozy wall.

They draped blankets over chairs. They used books to hold the corners down. The fort was magnificent! It had a pillow room and a snack corner. They all crawled inside. It was dark and soft and perfect.

Then, Bob Dog wagged his tail. Thump, thump, thump. His tail hit a chair leg. The whole blanket fort wobbled. One blanket slid off. Floomph! Then another. Soon, the fort was a pile of blankets and giggling friends.

“Oh no!” said Panda. “The fort fell down!” “That’s okay,” said Donkey. “We can build it again! But maybe we need a different plan.” They thought and thought. Duck Duck had an idea. “What if we build it around something that doesn’t move? Like the couch?”

So, they moved their operation to the living room. They tucked blankets into the couch cushions. They used the heavy coffee table as a support. This fort was lower, but sturdier. They crawled inside. It was cozy. But it was a bit squished. Panda’s foot was near Donkey’s nose. Bob Dog took up a lot of room.

“This is a very… friendly fort,” said Donkey, laughing. Just then, Grampy Hodie came in with a tray. “I brought hot apple cider for the fort engineers!” He bent down to hand them the cups. His hat bumped the roof blanket. Boop. The whole fort collapsed again! But this time, they were buried under soft blankets, with the sweet smell of apple cider in the air.

They all laughed from under the blanket mountain. The second bedtime story adventure was complete. The perfect blanket fort wasn’t about staying up. It was about the fun of building it… and the even funnier sound of it falling down with friends inside. They drank their cider sitting on the pile of blankets. The living room was a happy mess. Later, they folded the blankets together. The room was tidy. The friends were sleepy. The best fort of all was their own cozy beds, which never fell down. And they all slept wonderfully.

Story Three: The Super Quiet Search for the Squeak

Everything was quiet in Donkey Hodie’s house. It was almost bedtime. Then… Squeak! Everyone heard it. Squeak! There it was again. “What is that?” whispered Panda. “It’s a mystery squeak!” whispered Donkey. “We have to find it! But we have to be super quiet, so we can hear it.”

They tiptoed. Shhh, step. Shhh, step. Donkey checked her toy box. No squeak. Duck Duck looked under the rug. No squeak. Bob Dog sniffed near the door. Squeak! “It’s near the door!” whispered Panda.

They saw Grampy’s rain boots by the door. Bob Dog sniffed the boots. Squeak! The sound came from inside the boot! Donkey carefully tipped the boot over. Out rolled a small, yellow rubber duck. It was a bath toy. It must have rolled in there after bath time last week.

Donkey picked up the duck. She gave it a gentle squeeze. Squeak! That was the sound! The mystery was solved. The duck was just saying hello from inside the dark boot.

“Hello, duck,” said Donkey. “You were lost.” She put the duck on a shelf so it wouldn’t get lost again. The house was quiet. The search was over.

But now, they were all wide awake from their quiet adventure! Grampy came in. “I heard you solved the great squeak mystery. Well done, detectives. Now, for the next mission: Operation Cozy Sleep. Who’s ready?”

They all were. The last of our Donkey Hodie bedtime stories was over. The detectives had done their job. Now it was time for rest. Donkey got into her pajamas. Panda fluffed her pillow. Duck Duck curled up. Bob Dog sighed a happy sigh. The house was still. The only sound was the gentle tick of the clock and the soft, sleepy breathing of friends who had solved a fun problem together. And in the quiet dark, that was the most peaceful sound of all. Goodnight, Donkey Hodie. Goodnight, everyone.
